Two worlds collide as Starfield Studiios combine scifi adventure with drama/documentary in “Lost in the Ice Planet”, a unique television event strarring Michael Ironside.
In the not to distant future, a team of soldiers, civilians and scientists are hurtled to the farthest reaches of the galaxy as they explore a strange and ancient ship they call “The Artefact”. Marooned on a distant ice planet, the team, led by Rear Admiral Trager (Ironside), fight for survival against an alien environment and a sinister alien threat; and try to find a way home.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, in an alternate reality that is inextricably linked to the fates of those on the ice planet, a TV production company struggle to survive in a world of union strikes, financing shortfalls and a global financial meltdown.
The mini series combines state of the art CGI and tense drama as the two realities battle for survival against insurmountable odds.
The series jumps between both realities using wire work, special effects, story boards and behind the scenes footage and will have a distinct “manga” feel about it.
